Event Details

September 20, 2013 – 08:00 AM – 04:00 PM

This regional symposium will showcase capabilities and technologies from the Computational Sciences & Engineering Division (CSED). Researchers in CSED are some of ORNL’s most active in collaborating with industry and generate much of ORNL’s computational science-based intellectual property. Presentations include R&D areas related to cyber security, data analytics, data systems, geographic information, modeling & simulation, and quantum information.

The symposium is appropriate for software and IT companies, entrepreneurs, manufacturers, organizations with “big data” knowledge discovery needs, as well as economic development organizations and venture capital firms with relevant contacts and clients.

The Computational Sciences and Engineering Division is a major research division at the Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory. CSED develops and applies creative information technology and modeling and simulation research solutions for National Security and National Energy Infrastructure needs. The mission of the CSED is to enhance the country’s capabilities in achieving important objectives in the areas of national defense, homeland security, energy assurance, and biomedical technology.
