On Thursday, March 28, ChaTech Women held its’ first social of 2019 at the UTC College of Engineering and Computer Science building. Bre Stephens of CO.LAB won the Alexa Echo Dot, gifted by Zillion.
“Women are very underrepresented in tech jobs, and that is why we started ChaTech women. We can provide extra encouragement and help people connect by creating a supportive space where women in technology and students aspiring to be in that field can ask questions,” Carla Askonas, Executive Director of ChaTech. ChaTech Women’s mission is to inspire, connect and support women and girls in technology pursuits through education, networking and mentoring so they may advance professionally and personally. This is just the beginning of our collaborative effort to build a supportive network for women in technology. “We need more women in technology, and we need help getting there,” Dr. Daniel Pack, Dean of College of Engineering and Computer Science at UTC. ChaTech is partnering with local organizations and companies to further its mission. Interested in learning how to support this program? Contact Carla Askonas at carla@chatechcouncil.org.
