07 Mar ChaTech Extends Scholarship Program to More Colleges
As part of ChaTech’s commitment to investing in the technology workforce, we award scholarships to area college students in information technology majors. This year, we expanded the list of colleges and universities whose students are eligible to apply.
The newly added schools are: Chattanooga State, Cleveland State, Dalton State, Middle Tennessee State University and Tennessee Tech. The ChaTech board expanded access to the scholarships in recognition of Chattanooga’s role as a regional hub for technology and entrepreneurship. Members noted that students from these schools take jobs in Chattanooga, and the scholarships encourage the flow of graduates into local tech jobs.
The scholarship applications and eligibility criteria are available at http://chatechcouncil.org/scholars/. They are due on March 31, 2017.
Here is the complete list of colleges and universities whose students can participate in the ChaTech Scholars Program:
- Chattanooga State
- Cleveland State
- Covenant College
- Dalton State
- Lee University
- Southern Adventist University
- Tennessee Tech
In 2016, ChaTech granted a total of $12,000 to students. The selection committee has discretion to award up to $2,500 per person. Awards will be announced on June 21, 2017 at a ceremony held at the Volkswagen Chattanooga Academy. Winners are encouraged but not required to attend the event.
